This year, the panel of judges was comprised of 73 journalists from 23 different countries. After all, a global award requires a global perspective. Weighing in at only 2,332 pounds, the Mazda MX-5 Miata is proof that less is more, delivering 155 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque in its compact package. To lighten the load even further, the car features a new 6-speed manual transmission that is both smaller and lighter than the previous version, without sacrificing short-throw precision. And of course, if manual isn’t your thing, you can opt for the 6-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
