The new versions of the Mazda3 sedan and the Mazda6 sedan will feature the Mazda brand’s innovative new G-Vectoring Control (GVC). Eventually, Mazda plans to roll this feature—which improves comfort, stability, and steering performance—to the full Mazda vehicle suite.

While many vehicle features sound like they’re designed for race-track-like scenarios that most of us will never experience, GVC was designed with the everyday driver in mind. A common mistake among drivers is to jerk the steering wheel when going into a turn, which has the unfortunate effect of needlessly destabilizing the car and accentuating weight transfers. Not only does this hurt performance, it’s uncomfortable for everyone in the car. Professional drivers take turns using 100 percent of the grip while reducing the roll and pitch of the chassis. This takes years of practice to master with precision. Don’t worry though, GVC has you covered.

Using advanced software and a sophisticated array of sensors, GVC detects interactions with the steering of the 2017 Mazda3 and 2017 Mazda6. The system has the ability to limit the torque sent to the wheels at the right moment to better control G forces. GVC just doesn’t have time for your bad habits.

Not only does this feature help maximize performance during turns, it also reduces the effort needed for steering. We love features like this here at Hall Mazda Virginia Beach. Bells and whistles are great, but there’s nothing better than a feature that simply kicks in to give you a better ride. Driving a Mazda vehicle has always been a great experience, now it’s about to get better. Come on in to our Mazda dealership near Chesapeake, VA to experience this feeling for yourself.
